Baking a differrence, one cupcake at a time.

Dessert Gallery's  "Cupcakes for a Cause" Raises Money for Patients at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson's Breast Center

Houston -  Throughout October, Dessert Gallery Bakery & Café will  join The University of Texas M. D.  Anderson Cancer Center in the fight against breast cancer during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its "Cupcakes for a Cause" cupcake promotion.   Houston's premier dessert bakery, known for their All-American, rich, beautiful desserts, will generously donate 10 percent of all pink ribbon cupcake sales to benefit the Nellie B. Connally Breast Center's  Pink Ribbon Program, a volunteer program established at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center to assist breast cancer patients who are undergoing treatment.

"If you want to indulge your sweet tooth guilt-free in October, you can for a good cause," said Dessert Gallery owner Sara Brook.  Breast cancer recently claimed the life of Brook's aunt, Dede Mayer, a native Houstonian and breast cancer patient at M. D. Anderson. "The staff and volunteers at M. D. Anderson's Breast Center provide outstanding patient support with care, compassion and integrity.  This is my way of saying ‘thank you' to all who are committed to the cause and to support a program that is so important to those affected by breast cancer."  Dessert Gallery will also collect cash donations for M. D. Anderson's Pink Ribbon Program at all locations during the month of October.

To purchase cupcakes, visit Dessert Gallery in the Upper Kirby District at 3200 Kirby Drive, in the Galleria area at 1616 Post Oak Drive or at their newest location at 2260 Lone Star Drive at Sugar Land Town Square.  Pink ribbon cupcakes are also available online at the company's website and may be shipped nationwide during the month of October.  Click here to order cupcakes online or for more information about Dessert Gallery.  For more information about M. D. Anderson Cancer Center's Pink Ribbon Program visit www.mdanderson.org.
