Dessert Gallery expands to Sugar Land

The Dessert Gallery Bakery & Cafe has opened its doors in Sugar Land.

Located at 2260 Lone Star Drive in Sugar Land Town Square, it is the first Dessert Gallery store outside of the Houston city limits and the third in the Houston area.

Sara Brook, chef and owner of the Dessert Gallery, said customers have been requesting a Sugar Land location for years.

"It's been said that Dessert Gallery is the sweetest thing to hit Sugar Land since Imperial Sugar moved here in 1917," she said.

The 2,700-square-foot restaurant, created by Mirador Group & Mirador Interiors, features three dessert cases loaded with cakes, cookies and brownies, all made from scratch.

Besides cafe and patio seating, the new Dessert Gallery features a second-story lounge that overlooks the restaurant and can be reserved for small private parties.

The store has a contemporary design featuring black and white images of Dessert Gallery's popular desserts and an eye-catching, five-foot chandelier hanging above a circular booth in a back corner of the cafe.

Similar to the Upper Kirby and Galleria locations, the Sugar Land store features a video loop of desserts in the making. Free wireless Internet is also available.

In addition to desserts, Dessert Gallery offers sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, boxed lunches and party trays. The Sugar Land location will also provide catering and delivery services to local businesses.
