Self-Love

Sometimes the most meaningful love story is the one you have with yourself. Whether it’s treating yourself to your favorite slice after a long day, celebrating a personal win with a cupcake, or just saying “I deserve this” for no reason at all. This chapter is for the sweet solo moments and the everyday reminders that you are worth celebrating.

5 years ago... I lost my taste buds and sense of smell. I haven't recovered at all and eating is almost always miserable. I stopped baking desserts, I stopped eating desserts because they all taste weird to me.

Well, I was in the neighborhood one day and decided to try your delicious desserts to see if I could taste them. Lord, I was so happy, I thought i was in heaven. The Tres Leches was so delicious, the Lemon Blueberry was also so delicious and flavorful. I can finally taste a dessert in all it's glory and you have made me so happy, so excited, to be able to enjoy desserts again. You have a special touch that nobody else has and for that, I am deeply in love. Thank you so much. - Melissa L.

The Sweetest Part of My Self-Love Journey.” After leaving the military and moving to a new state, I found myself completely starting over. I didn’t just need a new routine, I needed to rediscover me. I committed to a full transformation: healing mentally, eating clean, training hard, and finally choosing myself every day. It’s been one of the most powerful journeys of my life. Sweaty and proud, I’d leave the gym after hitting my milestones and go straight to Dessert Gallery. It wasn’t about “cheating,” it was about honoring my growth. DG became part of my self-love ritual. A slice of cake or a whoopie pie reminded me: I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Dessert Gallery didn’t just satisfy a craving. It became part of my healing. A symbol of joy, reward, and the love I’ve learned to give myself. - Tamyra W.

I was going through a lot in life. It seemed like everything that could go wrong did!

One day, as I decided to treat myself to dessert, I told myself that my story is how I write it. My days are how I choose to make them. I knew I needed to stop being so hard on myself, and finally stop seeking love from others and find it within myself.

Going to Dessert Gallery that day was the best day I had had in a long time. I found myself, and in the process, I enjoyed a great slice of cake! - Yandi

Tres Leches is my mom’s and my favorite dessert; I love surprising her with it because she is the biggest, sweet tooth I know. She thinks of sweets as her daily miracles, and it always lifts her mood. – Brenda F.

Before a big job interview, I stopped by DG to grab a cupcake. I wasn’t nervous, just needed a little boost. I sat in the parking lot of my job interview, frosting first, hyping myself up with every bite. I got the job, but honestly that moment with the cupcake felt like the win I needed first. - Jay R.

Almost every Sunday, I Doordash Dessert Gallery to my house. This past weekend, I sat in my living room with my journal and a slice of strawberry cake, reflecting on the week. No phones, no emails. It’s become the most peaceful part of my week and a reminder that I can create joy for myself, anytime. - Melissa P.

I spent my birthday alone one year. I was new to Houston, no friends yet, but I picked up a slice of cake from Dessert Gallery, lit a candle, and made a wish anyway. It was quiet, sweet, and perfect. It reminded me I don’t need a crowd to celebrate myself. - Rowan M.
